PAPER
MACHINE VENTILATION
Large
amounts of moisture from the pulp evaporates during the
manufacturing process, in particular from the Wire Section and
the Press Section as illustrated below. This steam is
corrosive and therefore destructive to all surfaces on which
it condensates, including concrete constructions, steel
reinforcements and plant and machinery surfaces in general.
With
the life expectancy significantly reduced through corrosion,
the plant and buildings must be repaired or replaced very
frequently. This adds to the operating cost of the
factory and reduces the overall competitiveness of the company
owning the factory.
The
humidity and temperature in the space surrounding these
processes are high. The vapors create an uncomfortable
and unhealthy working environment, and this reduces the
productivity which further adds to the paper production cost.
THE
SOLUTION
During
the pulping and papermaking process large amounts of excess
heat and corrosive vapour must be removed, normally with paper
machine drying hoods and other dryer systems.
Gupex
manufacture effective air flow control systems and industrial
ventilation with optimum energy recovery-to-waste ratio.
Our
simple, yet highly effective and, of course, corrosion
resistant and maintenance free systems ensures that the heat
and evaporation from the production line only goes where you
want it to go.
Also,
all condensation problems are eliminated. This not only
preserves your buildings but it also stops condensation on the
roof surfaces and therefore eliminates dripping onto the
production line. Wider access to the production line can
easily be made available within a short time.
Finally,
with the removal of the humid, hot and acidic vapors from the
space around the production line the working environment is
improved dramatically.
